All our practitioners cost the same, because research has shown that it’s more about the therapeutic relationship - the connection, whether you vibe with your therapist.
For example…
Client A wants to start therapy. They begin their search and discover that there are different terms: psychologist, psychiatrist, counsellor, psychotherapist, practitioner - the list goes on. Different years of experience, education, styles, and so on. Some are called senior, others have Medicare rebates, private health rebates, and on top of that they’re all priced differently. With the luxury of a high paying wage, they decide to choose the most expensive option - because that’s what society has taught us, price dictates quality.
They start their work together, and they often feel like they’re unheard, misunderstood, and nothing really connects for them. They feel compelled to continue and think it “must be me” because they’re the most expensive, and have all these qualifications & credentials that look great. But the client is unhappy, and is just going because they know “it’s meant to help”.
Client B is looking for a new therapist & has been educated on the importance of finding a therapist is that right for them. They have a working knowledge of all the terms that the mental health industry uses, and understands that it can take a bit of time to find the right fit, like with anything in life. They also understand that it’s not always price that dictates quality or the results they are hoping to obtain through therapy. They’ve been encouraged to ask questions to their new therapist/practice to see if they’re a good fit for each other.
They find a practice that understands well, and to make things simple the practice has uniform pricing for all their practitioners, with a focus on their style of therapy, personality, and who they are as a human being - to help the client gauge if there’s a potential connection there.
They start their therapeutic journey with their therapist and feel supported, heard, and grateful that their suspicions about their therapist’s personality and style has indeed translated from their bio, free discovery call, and now their work together. They feel equipped in navigating their mental health journey.
Therapist A charges a very high amount for their services, is highly reviewed, has numerous qualifications, books, and so on. So Client A decides to go see them. However, they find them too direct, and hard to understand. But they feel compelled to see them because of their credentials, though they don’t feel seen, even heard.
